ONEGOAL.FOOTBALL is a new sport where instead of the goals being at either end of the pitch, the goals are centrally located back to back.  

Tom Mackenzie a successful inventor and entrepreneur was watching football games and noticed that there was only about 25mins of actual play for a 50min match.  Checking the footage this was due to the ball being out of play for goal kicks, corners and throw ins.  This was confirmed by Premier League analysis which showed on average the ball was in play less than 50 minutes and in some cases as little as 44 minutes out of a 90 minute game.  That is a lot of time the ball is out of play.  To improve the amount of time the ball is in play I came up with ONEGOAL FOOTBALL.  Instead of the goals being at either end of the pitch, the goals are centrally located back to back.  This concept can be applied to a number of different sports.    

Advantages of ONEGOAL.FOOTBALL

• ball is in play more as no goal kicks or corners

• more time playing football with less time wasted with the ball out of play

• more goals are scored

• players stop less which is better for their fitness

• no offsides which eliminates controversial decisions

• uses less space

With the goals back to back the need for goal kicks and corners are eliminated which increases the amount of time the ball is in play.  If a shot on goal goes wide of the goal then the other team have a chance to score increasing the number of goals scored.  Restarts are much faster with the goalie picking the ball from the back of the net.  With the ball in play more players will stop less and get a better workout improving fitness.

Rules

ONEGOAL.FOOTBALL is based on football, normal FIFA football rules apply.  As this is a brand new sport I would like as many teams to try it, all you need are 2 cones, poles, markers or anything to define 2 posts.  If you would like a physical goal you will have to wait until February as we are busying dealing with the current successful Kickstarter campaign.  Once you have played ONEGOAL.FOOTBALL please send through the rules you would like to see.  This is the first time in the World that a sport will have its rules crowd sourced.  To start with the two rules I think need to be in place are:

1. Keeper can only throw or kick into their own half.  This is to prevent the keeper from throwing the ball directly over the goal.
2. When a goal is scored the keeper can pick the ball from the back of the net and pay restarts.  This ensures a quick restart.

Our Kickstarter Campaign was completed successfully and once these have been manufactured and delivered then you will be able to purchase from here 12 feet (3.66m) wide x 6 feet (1.82m) high x 3.84 feet (1.17m) deep OneGoal.Football goals.  

The size is popular with under 11’s and in small sided adult football games.  The goal is constructed from lightweight weatherproof uPVC meaning it can be left outdoors.   The goal net is heavy duty which is also weather resistance.   The goal net will be attached by a novel attachment making it even faster to connect the net and puts less strain on the net extending its life.  The goal can be packed down into the handy carry bag which can be transported in the boot of your car.  The locking system ensures the goal is rigid once put together.
